The Chiefs took their lifeline with both hands as they notched an impressive 37-17 win over the Brumbies in the semi-finals last week.

The Crusaders are still looking to make up for their woeful campaign last season, and they are on the cusp of the ultimate redemption as they head into the Grand Final on Saturday.
11 wins in 14 regular season matches was as many as the Chiefs, but their five bonus points compared to the Chiefs' seven saw them miss out on top spot. However, this did little to dampen their mood, with the Crusaders easily beating the Reds 32-12 in the qualifying finals before easing past the Blues in a statement 21-14 win over last season's Grand Final winners.
Now, the Crusaders have the chance to beat the only team that has handed them a loss in their last 10. Nine wins have come alongside this defeat, with the Crusaders in scintillating form. Importantly, the Chiefs missed out on winning the Grand Final last year as they were humiliated 41-10 by the Blues, and I expect more heartbreak for them this weekend.
Chiefs Form
The Chiefs needed a huge helping hand to see them avoid being knocked out in the qualifying finals this season, with the top side in the regular season losing 20-19 to the Blues. They did bounce back immediately with a 37-17 win over the Brumbies, but there are questions over whether they deserve a place in the final when the team that beat them in qualifying is now out.
Regardless, the Chiefs are in the final, and their regular season performances show they deserve to be there. 11 wins and seven bonus points in 14 outings means they finished two clear of the Crusaders in second after a stunning campaign.
The major worry for the Chiefs will be that they choked at this stage last season in a stunning 41-10 loss to the Blues. The Crusaders are desperate to prove 2024 was just a blip by winning in 2025, and I predict that the Chiefs will once again slip to defeat on the big stage.
Verdict
I am backing a tight match in which the Crusaders just about sneak to the win. They have been outstanding as the regular season became the knockout stages, and I predict that they will lift the trophy this year.
