England vs Argentina Preview & Tips
England are looking to complete a clean sweep across their November series, entering their fourth and final match on the back of three consecutive wins.
Argentina roared to a stunning comeback win over Scotland in their last game as they notched a 33-24 win over their hosts.
- England have won their last four against Argentina
- England have won their last 10 Tests
Head To Head
England have won nine of their last 10 matches against Argentina, with the Pumas winning once.
England Form
England were outstanding last week as they notched a stunning 33-19 win over New Zealand in a game that Twickenham will not forget anytime soon.
Despite going 12-0, England bounced back in the dying embers of the first-half with an Ollie Lawrence try preceding two George Ford drop goals. The English then put their foot down in the second-half as they completely outplayed New Zealand with and without the ball.
Their win over the All Blacks was their 10th consecutive triumph, and they can end their November campaign with four wins if they are to beat Argentina. However, the worry for England will be that November has taken its toll, seeing a number of players ruled out. The likes of Elliot Daly and Henry Slade have been drafted in on the wing and in the centre respectively, and it will be interesting to see whether they can replicate the form of Tom Roebuck and Ollie Lawrence, whom they replace this week.
Steve Borthwick has been a master changing things up at the perfect time across November, and I back his big calls to once again come up trumps. Argentina have been involved in some high-scoring games so far, so I back this to be the case again this weekend, with Immanuel Feyi-Waboso going over for a try.
Argentina Form
The two sides of Argentina were on full show in their last match against Scotland as they somehow managed to notch a 33-24 win despite their woeful performance in the first-half.
Santi Carreras entering the fray in the second-half completely changed the game, with the Bath star able to turn the game on its head. In each of their matches so far, Argentina have managed to score at least 33 points, with their brand of running rugby helping them to tear Wales and Scotland apart.
This week, I do not back them to beat England. England look very strong, and history is very much on their side. However, I do back this match to be a tight one as the Pumas push England close at Twickenham.
Verdict
I am backing Immanuel Feyi-Waboso to score a try as England secure a win by 1-12 points.
