Australia Women likely need a point from their final match against England with the USA breathing down their necks.

The pair have met three times in total, with England winning all three matches. Their last meeting back in 2023 saw England run out 42-7 winners.

Their 69-7 win over a stubborn USA outfit was quickly followed by a 92-3 win over Samoa. With neither side in the same bracket as England on the field, the pressure was on England to win handsomely, and that is what they did. They now face their biggest test in the group as they take on Australia.
With a place in the quarter-finals assured, England could have rested some players with a view towards the knockout stages. However, the home side potentially have the chance to knock Australia out. A big win in which they deny the Aussies any form of bonus points could see the USA finish above Australia if they can beat Samoa with a bonus point.
I back England to go all out as they try to rub salt in the wounds and eliminate the Aussies early.
Australia Women Form
Australia Women have given themselves a major headache heading into their final group game after their 31-31 draw with the USA.
Their 73-0 win over Samoa in round one now feels like a long time ago, with Australia needing to hit their stride against England. It is worth noting that Australia playing at their peak will still not likely be enough to beat England, who are a long way clear of their opponents with regard to their quality.
The need to get at least a point from this match will not be lost on Australia, but I do not believe this will be enough to catapult Australia to a result. I back them to lose comfortably to England as the home team secure a third consecutive win.
