The National Provincial Championship, abbreviated to the NPC, is one of the most popular rugby union competitions happening each year in New Zealand.
In 2024, Wellington managed to defeat all others as they notched the title in stunning style with a pulsating win over Bay Of Plenty in the grand final. This season, Wellington are among the top sides, but the reigning champions are not at the head of the betting.
You can check out the latest NPC Winner betting odds in the table below.

Wellington arrive for the new season as the reigning champions, but they are not at the head of the betting after a tough start. Canterbury and Tasman lead the betting after good starts to the new campaign.
The top of the table currently sees Canterbury, Otago and Taranaki sitting in first, second and third respectively after the opening six rounds. Canterbury are the only perfect side in the competition at this stage having won all six of their games, with Otago, Taranaki, Bay Of Plenty, Hawke's Bay and Tasman all winning four times each.
Wellington are the surprising omission from the top places in the standings after winning just two of their opening six matches.
2024's edition of the NPC did not disappoint, with massive hits, stunning tries and moments of individual brilliance helping to underline the competition as one of the most exciting and unpredictable in the game of rugby.
In 2024, Wellington topped the standings before then going on and securing the bragging rights as they defeated Bay Of Plenty 23-20 after extra time in a final for the ages.
Last year, four teams finished on 38 points or more, with the top of the standings incredibly tight. This term, we are expecting an equally tight battle at the summit, with the playoffs then giving each side one life in their attempts to be the last team standing.
This time round, Canterbury seem as though they will romp to the top place with room to spare. They have not looked like dropping points yet. Meanwhile, each of the other 13 sides have shown weakness, and they have been punished for it.
Which side do you think will win the NPC in 2025? Can Wellington defend their title, or will another side secure the trophy this year?
