The first five rounds of the Rugby Championship did not disappoint as underdogs Australia secured arguably the result of year as they humiliated South Africa 38-22 away from home in one of the great performances.
However, South Africa have challenged Australia for the biggest result of the season. They consigned New Zealand to a record defeat, with the Springboks running out 43-10 winners. This victory was their second of the tournament and has thrown the competition into chaos.
With one game left to come, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia are still in with a shot of the title, although each has differing degrees of hope.
South Africa are the side to back according to the odds, and it is easy to see why. The Springboks sit at the top with 15 points and a points difference of +55. New Zealand are second with 14 points and a -6 points difference. Australia need to hammer New Zealand and hope South Africa lose their match to have any chance of securing the trophy.
The final round of games sees Australia hosting New Zealand and South Africa travelling to Twickenham to face Argentina.
While New Zealand are fancied to beat Australia, they will need to demolish the Aussies and hope that South Africa fail to pick up a try scoring bonus point in a win. If the Springboks win with a try scoring bonus point, the trophy will be theirs once again.
Which team do you think will secure the title in 2025? Can South Africa defend their crown, or will another of the nations secure the silverware?
