The Super Rugby 2025 season has brought all of the big hits, last ditch tackles, stunning tries and nail-biting moments we have come to expect from one of the premier competitions in rugby union.
With the season now at the Grand Final, the Chiefs are the current favourites to triumph in the final match of 2025, but are they the side to back in the showpiece event?

The Super Rugby season is now at the biggest game of the campaign, with the Chiefs installed as the favourites to secure the crown. Their odds of 1.80 see them at the head of the betting, but they are not clear of the Crusaders.
Indeed, the Crusaders are right behind the Chiefs in the betting. The Crusaders suffered a horrendous campaign last time out as they missed out on the playoff spots. Their ninth-placed finish saw them notch just 24 points in 14 games, a total they breezed past this year.
The Blues and Brumbies were the sides vying for a place in the final, but they were eventually beaten in the semi-finals. For the Blues, it was a case of so near yet so far as they were beaten 21-14 by the Crusaders.
The Brumbies were overpowered by the Chiefs in a 37-17 win for the latter, although questions have been raised over the Chiefs making it to the final when they were beaten in the quarter-finals by the Blues. Despite this, they are the side to back in the Grand Final.
The Chiefs have been given a second chance, but the Crusaders will know they have what it takes to beat their opponents. This is statistically the right final after the Chiefs finished at the summit and the Crusaders finished in second. This should be an incredibly exciting and tense finale to yet another brilliant Super Rugby season.
