Auckland FC sank to a shock 2-1 loss to Newcastle Jets in their last league game as their winless run in the competition was extended to two matches.
Wellington Phoenix ended their own three-game winless run as they edged to a 2-1 win over Adelaide United last week.

This week, I back the home team to get back to winning ways as they extend their winning run against their opponents to five matches. While I do not see them keeping a clean sheet, something they have failed to do across their last four in the league, I do believe they will take all three points from this one.

Wellington Phoenix were solid at the weekend as they ended a run of three without a win by beating Adelaide United 2-1, thus handing their opponents only a third defeat of the season.
This victory has seen Phoenix climb up to sixth on the ladder with eight points. A big win in this one would see Wellington climb above their hosts in a solid start to the season.
However, four consecutive defeats to their opponents will weigh heavily on their minds. The last time they travelled to take on Auckland, they were dispatched in an embarrassing 6-1 loss, and I worry for them heading into this one.
Verdict
I am backing the home side to take all three points from this one. While I do not see them keeping a clean sheet, I do back them to end their winless run.
