Melbourne Victory extended their winning run to two matches with an impressive 4-1 win over Central Coast Mariners prior to the international break.
Wellington Phoenix beat Brisbane Roar 2-1 in their last A-League game as they edged closer to the top six places in the A-League.

Victory have won five of their last 10 against Phoenix, with the latter winning twice and three games ending as draws.
Melbourne Victory Form
Melbourne Victory are hot on the heels of Auckland FC in second on the ladder, with the former now just four points behind the latter. With the top six spots very congested right now, Victory will know that continuing to win their games is key to their hopes of potentially winning the title this season.
Ahead of the international break, Victory beat Macarthur and Central Coast Mariners in a pair of 4-1 triumphs. This followed on from wins over Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne City along with draws against Brisbane Roar, Adelaide United and Sydney FC.
With Victory now avoiding defeat across their last seven league games, they will be very confident they can extend their run. Six wins, three draws and two defeats across their 11 home games means they boast the best home record in the league, and I back them to add a seventh win on their own patch this season.
Wellington Phoenix Form
Wellington Phoenix extended their unbeaten run in the A-League to three matches after securing a battling 2-1 win over struggling Brisbane Roar.
Victory means they are now just a point short of Macarthur in sixth, with their upturn in form coinciding with poor runs for a number of teams above and blow them on the ladder.
However, Phoenix have been poor against Victory, losing their last four matches against their opponents. On the road, Wellington have one of the worst records in the league after winning just three of their 10 away from home, with the side taking 13 of a possible 30 points so far.
Phoenix have hit the back of the net in their last three league games and I back them to extend this run this week. However, I do not back them to down their hosts as they slip to a 10th defeat of the season.
Verdict
I am backing Melbourne Victory to secure the points in their clash with the Phoenix as both sides fail to keep clean sheets.
