New Zealand vs Australia 2nd T20 Preview & Tips
New Zealand battled their way to 181/6 in their 20 overs only to see an inspired Australia easily chase their total down.
Australia would not be denied in their game against the Black Caps as they made light work of their opponents.
- Australia have won 11 of their last 12 T20's
- Australia recorded the better opening partnership in the first T20 as they scored 67 runs
Head To Head
Australia have won eight of their last 10 against the Black Caps, with New Zealand winning the other two.
New Zealand Form
New Zealand looked like they were going to give Australia a real run for their money in their opening T20 as they notched a strong 181/6 from 120 deliveries.
Tim Robinson slammed a stunning 106 not out from 66 balls that featured six boundaries and five maximums. Despite his supreme century, New Zealand could not quite kick on towards a target of 200+ runs.
Heading into the second T20, New Zealand have to win to keep the series alive. However, the Aussies have been far too strong for the Black Caps of late, and I back a tough outing for the home side.
Australia Form
Australia were exceptional with bat and ball in the first T20 as they secured a deserved win over the home side.
The Aussies restricted New Zealand to a score of 181, with this looking fairly competitive. However, Australia's batting lineup smashed their way to 185/4 in 16.3 overs, showing that anything short of 200 was actually under-par on the night.
Their batting efforts were underpinned by an excellent score of 67 without loss before they eventually lost Travis Head for 31. By contrast, New Zealand could only get four runs on the board before they lost their first wicket. I back the Aussies to once again post the highest opening partnership in a second successive win for the tourists.
Verdict
I am backing Australia to win the series by securing a second consecutive win as their openers post the highest partnership.
