Rangers battled to a 2-0 win over Hibernian in their last league game as they ended a woeful run of five without a win in all competitions.

Genk could not come into their Europa League clash with Rangers on the back of a win after they were beaten 2-1 by Royale Union SG in their last match.

This will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive football match.
Rangers Form
Rangers desperately needed a win in their match as the weekend and that is exactly what they got against Hibernian as they emerged from their clash as 2-0 winners.
This win put an end to a five-game winless run, with this featuring three draws and two defeats. While the season is still young, Rangers cannot afford to continue to lose matches and drop points across competitions, If they are to do so, then they will more than likely end this season trophyless.
With this the first match of the new Europa League season, Rangers do have some leeway as they head into what is a long campaign. However, victory in their opening game would take some of the pressure off their already beleaguered squad, and I back them to secure the points in midweek.
Genk Form
Genk have stuttered of late, with the side slipping to two consecutive defeats. More worrying still will be that they have lost twice in the supposed safety their home stadium should bring.
In Europe, Genk did secure a 6-3 aggregate win over Lech Poznan, but they were beaten 2-1 by their opponents in the second-leg. Clean sheets have also been tough to come by, with Genk failing to keep an opponent to nil in any of their last nine in all competitions.
Despite having the attractive prospect of starting their European season with a win, I back Genk to stutter as they slip to a frustrating loss on the road and third consecutive defeat in all competitions.
Verdict
I am backing Rangers to dig out a big result as they make it two consecutive wins in all competitions.
