Iga Swiatek secured a 6-1 1-6 6-1 win over Anna Kalinskaya in the third round as she dropped a set for the first time at the competition in 2026.

Maddison Inglis has been pushed in each of her two completed Australian Open matches, winning 2-1 against Kimberly Birrell and Laura Siegemund.
Whether Inglis would have made it to the fourth round had it not been for Naomi Osaka's withdrawal remains to be seen. With the quality of opposition really ramping up, I predict Inglis will have some real issues in the fourth round.

Iga Swiatek was given some real issues in the third round of the Australian Open as she lost the second set of her clash with Anna Kalinskaya 1-6.
While Swiatek did eventually notch a 6-1 1-6 6-1 win, her performance in the second set will be a huge worry to the 24-year-old. With Swiatek yet to make it past the semi-final stage of the Australian Open in seven completed tournaments, her performance in the third round will be a worry.
While I do predict that Swiatek will secure a third 2-0 win in four outings at the tournament in 2026, I back her woes when it comes to winning the competition to continue.
