England vs New Zealand Women 1st T20 Preview & Tips
England Women head into their T20 series against New Zealand looking to build on a five-wicket win over India in their last T20 back in July 2025.
New Zealand Women hammered South Africa by 92 runs in their last T20 match as they stormed to a third successive win in the format.

In their last 10 T20 meetings, England have won nine times, with New Zealand winning once. The English arrive looking to extend an eight-game winning run over their opponents in the shortest format.
England Women Form
England Women have been frustratingly inconsistent across their last 10 T20’s with the usually ruthless side slumping to five defeats over the course of their last 10.
A pair of heavy defeats to Australia led into three wins over the West Indies before England lost twice to India. While they did win two of their next three against their opponents, they slumped to a 3-2 series defeat. With England’s ability to beat the top sides in the shortest format in the spotlight, they simply have to win this series.
The White Ferns are well and truly in the upper-echelon of teams, although they are not at the summit alongside Australia, India and their opponents. This means that the home side will know a home defeat to New Zealand would be another major blot on their copybook.
With England looking to make it three wins in their last four T20’s, I am backing the English to power to a win as they look to continue their dominance over the White Ferns.
New Zealand Women Form
New Zealand Women will sense this is as good a time as any to get a first T20 win over England since March 2024.
Eight games have come and gone since then with eight defeats handed to the White Ferns. Positive for New Zealand will be the patchy form of their opponents in the T20 game with this seeing the English lose five of their last 10.
However, New Zealand’s woes against England are more than likely to trump England’s issues in the T20 game. With the White Ferns struggling to assert any dominance against England in the shortest format, I am backing them to slip to a loss in the opening T20.

I am backing England to notch the win in their opening T20 against New Zealand as they go 1-0 up with two games to play.
