New Zealand vs South Africa 3rd T20 Preview & Tips
New Zealand bounced back in some style in the second T20 against South Africa as they stormed to a 68-run win over the touring side.
South Africa struggled to make New Zealand pay for losing their opening clash as the home side dragged themselves back into the contest at 1-1.
- Devon Conway top scored in the second T20 with 60 from 49
- New Zealand have won two of their last three T20's against South Africa
Head To Head
New Zealand have won six of their last 10 T20's against the Proteas, with South Africa claiming four wins in this time.
New Zealand Form
New Zealand were excellent in the second T20 against South Africa as they put on an impressive display with bat and ball.
Devon Conway's powerful 60 from 49 laid the foundations for a score of 175/6 as the Black Caps made up for their woeful score of 91 in the first T20. After only taking three wickets in their first meeting, the Black Caps skittled South Africa for just 107 in 15.3 overs, with the home side finding form in both facets of the game.
In the third T20, I predict that New Zealand will make the most out of the momentum they generated from winning in their second meeting. While the match itself may not be as comfortable as their win in midweek, I am backing Devon Conway to build on his half-century as he leads his side to victory.
South Africa Form
South Africa were completely undone by their batting unit in game two as they were bundled out for a miserable score of 107.
With the Black Caps moving onto a score of 48 without loss ahead of the seventh over, restricting their opponents to 175/6 in 20 overs was an excellent show of resilience from the touring side. However, with only George Linde (33) able to score more than 19 runs, South Africa were eventually bundled out for 107.
While South Africa are looking to build on new and exciting talent, I predict that they will struggle to find top gear against a New Zealand side that looked to have found their groove. I am backing South Africa to slip to a second consecutive defeat as they fall 2-1 down in the series.
Verdict
I am backing Devon Conway to go beyond the 30-run mark as New Zealand secure successive wins.
