New Zealand vs West Indies 3rd Test Preview & Tips


New Zealand have been too good for the West Indies across each and every format of the game, with the Black Caps winning 3-0 in their T20 and ODI series, while they are on course to win 2-0 in their Test series. 

The West Indies need to regroup after a dismal series that has seen them hurtle towards losing 8-0, with a draw in the first Test the one time they have avoided defeat across their tour.

The Black Caps have won eight of their last 10 against the West Indies, with the latter winning once and one game ending as a draw. 

New Zealand Form 


New Zealand have been building well across the Test match game, with the Black Caps unbeaten in their last five matches. 

A 423-run win over England at the end of last year was followed by a nine-wicket win over Zimbabwe seven months later. They have since beaten Zimbabwe by an innings and 359-runs before drawing with the Windies and beating them by nine-wickets in the second Test. Had it not been for a defiant rear-guard action in the first Test, the home side would arrive for this one on the back of five consecutive wins. 

While the Windies will be going all out to finally get a win against their opponents, New Zealand are simply too good. They have bowled well by using the conditions to their advantage whilst also being disciplined. With the bat, they pick their moments, with steady and methodical batting seeing them build good scores. 

Kane Williamson tends to enjoy facing the Windies, averaging 57.05 against them. I back him to plunder a good score as he helps the Black Caps to a solid total. 

West Indies Form 


The West Indies will be desperate to avoid defeat in their final match of a multi-series tour that has seen their T20, ODI and Test teams picked apart. 

Across the first two Tests, the Windies have failed to score above 220 runs in three of their four innings. While their bowling has been better than their batting, they have failed to bundle New Zealand out for less than 230, with this not incisive enough to help their brittle batting unit gain the advantage. 

With the end of the multi-formats series and a trip home now beckoning, I predict that the Windies will slip to a 2-0 series defeat as they lose for the eighth time in nine matches across formats against the Black Caps. 

Verdict

I predict that Kane Williamson will score well for the home side as New Zealand round off their series against the West Indies with a win.
