Dolphins vs Roosters
The Dolphins have been outstanding of late, with five consecutive wins helping them onto 18 points, with the side now sat in fifth on the ladder. Victories over the Storm, Bulldogs, Rabbitohs, Raiders and Cowboys have been impressive, with their latest outing ending in a statement 40-14 win over a Cowboys side that had won eight of their 13 previous matches. While the Roosters arrive for this one ahead of the Dolphins in the standings, I am backing the home side to continue their outstanding run. They have won five consecutive times heading into this one and they are my pick to secure the points in this crunch match
The Roosters continue to impress in the NRL with eight wins and four defeats helping the side onto 20 points. Trailing the Panthers by six points, the Roosters know they cannot afford to allow their game in hand over the leaders to go to waste. However, having lost two of their last three in the NRL, I am backing this to be a tough day at the office for the Roosters as they slump to a third defeat in four matches.
Warriors vs Sharks
The Warriors are looking to take advantage of the Panthers having a week off this weekend as they host the Sharks. The Warriors were left to rue what might have been in a heart-breaking 20-18 loss to the Panthers two weeks ago, meaning they have had a lot of time to think about their clash with their opponents. Their loss to the Panthers brought a six-game winning run to an end. Fortunately for the Warriors is the fact they have won five of their six home games this season. While they have not been great against the Sharks over recent seasons, the Warriors are one of the best sides in the competition this term, and I predict a reaction in this one.
The Sharks can move to within two points of the Warriors if they can secure a statement win over their opponents this week. With seven wins coming from their opening 12, the Sharks have impressed. They have been particularly good across their last five, winning four times and losing once. Worrying is their away form. The Sharks have won one of their four matches, while they have lost three times. With their woes on the road clear, I am backing the Sharks to flounder this week.
Verdict
I am backing both the Dolphins and Warriors to secure wins over their opponents in tight victories by 1-12 points.
