Wests Tigers vs Warriors

The Wests Tigers have not been at their best of late with a string of defeats seeing them slip down to 12th on the ladder. The 18 points they have picked up means they are only eight short of the Warriors in second, but the difference between the pair on the field has been large. Seven defeats in their last nine outings is a disappointing return, while they have failed to make their own ground a fortress, with the side losing four of their last seven on their own patch. More worrying will be the five consecutive home defeats the Wests Tigers have suffered against the Warriors, and I back them to add one more to their run of poor results.

The Warriors are in need of a big performance this week after slumping to three defeats across their last four matches. Having missed playing last week, the Warriors will have been left to stew on their enthralling 26-24 loss to the Dolphins last time out. A single win across their last four means they are four points short of the Panthers at the summit.  With the Panthers also hitting something of a speedbump, the Warriors have missed the chance to edge closer to the summit. Fortunate for the Warriors is the fact they have won their last three against the Tigers, while they have won three of their last five on the road in 2026.

Dolphins vs Sharks

The Dolphins have been very impressive of late and that is what will make their recent 13-12 loss to the Newcastle Knights even more painful. Of course, it is worth noting that the Knights have secured 26 points this season in an excellent run, but the Dolphins saw a brilliant eight-game winning run broken. Playing away from home is never simple, but following up a 26-24 win over the Warriors with the tightest of defeats to the Knights saw the Dolphins miss their chance to edge closer to the summit. Despite this, the Dolphins boast four consecutive wins on their own patch heading into this one, and I back them to get back to winning ways with a triumph over their opponents.

The Cronulla Sharks arrive for this one sitting in sixth on the ladder with nine wins from their opening 15. Their tally of 24 points means they can leapfrog the Dolphins with a win, but this will be easier said than done. The Sharks have lost four of their seven on the road, while they have been beaten in three of their four previous matches against the Dolphins. With the Sharks struggling on the road and the Dolphins strong at home, I back a comfortable win for the home team.

Verdict

I am backing both the Warriors and Dolphins to win by 13 points or more as they get back to winning ways.
