The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by Mexico, Canada and the USA, with the biggest tournament in sport set to have fans glued to each pass, tackle and match across the summer.
Ahead of the tournament, the European sides dominate the head of the betting, but are they the teams to back with the most iconic trophy in sport on the line.
You can see the latest 2026 World Cup winner betting odds in the table below.
| 2026 World Cup Winner | Odds |
|---|---|
| Spain | $5.50 |
| France | $6.00 |
| England | $7.50 |
| Brazil | $9.00 |
| Portugal | $9.00 |
| Argentina | $10.00 |
| Germany | $15.00 |
| Rest of the field | $21.00+ |
Spain are seen as the team to back this summer, with the reigning European champions boasting some of the best players in the world right now.
France and England are just behind the favourites, with the European trio fancied to lift the trophy. Brazil and Argentina are in the mix but, surrounded by Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium, the top of the betting is packed with European heavyweights.
Well short of the top of the betting is New Zealand. At $2501.00, New Zealand will have to be perfect to progress from their group into the knockout stages. Sat in Group G, the likes of Belgium, Egypt and Iran are all vying for the top spots, meaning New Zealand will need to find a way to take points from some very strong teams.
Of course, anything can happen at a World Cup, especially against opponents like Belgium and Egypt, with both arriving with hopes of ruffling some feathers despite generally underachieving.
If New Zealand can find a way to stay compact at the back and Chris Wood can be particularly clinical in front of goal, then the side will feel that they can ask some serious questions of their opponents. Of course, this is easier said than done, especially if they concede early on and are forced to chase the game.
Can New Zealand escape their group and take their place in the knockout stages at the biggest tournament in sport?
