Alexander Zverev vs Jannik Sinner Preview & Tips
Alexander Zverev wasted no time in eliminating Arthur Fery in the semi-finals of Wimbledon as he stormed to a 7-6 6-2 6-4 win over his opponent.
Jannik Sinner came through a blockbuster tie with Novak Djokovic in the last round in stunning style as he secured a 6-4 6-4 6-4 win.
- Sinner has won his last nine against Zverev
Head To Head
The pair have met 14 times before, with Sinner securing 10 victories and Zverev winning four times.
Alexander Zverev Form
Alexander Zverev has been very good at Wimbledon in 2026, with no player able to take him beyond four sets so far.
A brace of 3-1 wins have come alongside four victories in straight sets. Some thought that Taylor Fritz and Arthur Fery might give him something to think about, but he stormed to simple wins in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively.
Against Fery, Zverevz's 7-6 6-2 6-4 win was built on a battling performance in the first set. Despite being taken to a tie breaker, Zverev easily beat Fery 7-0, with this seemingly breaking the latter’s resistance. From there, he dropped just six games across the next two sets in a big win.
In this one, I do not expect anything other than a real slog for Zverev. While he has won 44 of his 54 this season, he has been poor against Sinner, losing his last nine. While I back Zverev to take a set, I do not back him to get close to stopping Sinner from winning the Wimbledon title.
Jannik Sinner Form
Jannik Sinner eliminated Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals at Wimbledon in yet another high-quality performance from the 24-year-old. While the score of 6-4 6-4 6-4 suggests this was a simple match, the pair played out some scintillating tennis, with Sinner coming out on top yet again.
Across the season, Sinner has only lost three times whilst securing 43 wins. Six consecutive victories on grass have helped Sinner to swell his total of wins on grass across his career to 37 wins in 49 matches.
Sinner has dominated Zverev across their meetings, winning their last nine. His run is made all the more impressive when taking into account Zverev’s 4-1 lead over Sinner after their first five meetings.
A Wimbledon final will see both players battling for silverware, meaning the margin between the pair will likely shrink. Despite this, I do not see Zverev beating Sinner, with the world number one a long way ahead of Zverev and the rest of the field.
Verdict
I am backing Sinner to end his 2026 Wimbledon campaign with the trophy as he storms to a 3-1 win.
