Arthur Fery vs Alexander Zverev Preview & Tips
Arthur Fery wowed the home crowd in the quarter-finals as he hammered Flavio Cobolli in a one-sided straight-sets win.
Alexander Zverev also enjoyed a simple win in the quarter-finals as he eliminated Taylor Fritz 6-4 6-4 6-2.
- Zverev has won two of his five Wimbledon 2026 outings 3-1
Head To Head
This will be the first time the pair have ever met in a competitive tennis match.
Arthur Fery Form
Arthur Fery has been in superb form across Wimbledon this year, with his wins over Grigor Dimitrov and Flavio Cobolli showing his performances have not merely been a flash in the pan.
Against Dimitrov, Fery went the distance in a 7-5 3-6 4-6 6-4 7-6 triumph that saw the youngster pushed all the way. Most thought it would be similar in his clash against Cobolli, but Frey showcased his exceptional skill in a 6-4 7-6 6-0 win. The 7-6 score in the second set seemed to break Cobolli's spirit as he failed to win a game in the final set.
This win was his 25th in 37 outings in 2026, while he has now won 11 of his 14 on grass this season. Fery has provided the home fans with the chance to support a home-grown player in a Wimbledon semi-final, and this cannot be underestimated in the energy they will give him on the court.
While I fully expect to see Fery notch a set, I predict that his stunning run at Wimbledon will be brought to an end by the first genuine top player he has taken on.
Alexander Zverev Form
Alexander Zverev was superb in the Wimbledon quarter-finals as he breezed past Taylor Fritz in a 6-4 6-4 6-2 triumph.
This win constitutes Zverez's 43rd win of the season, with his other 10 outings ending in defeat. On grass, eight wins have come from nine outings, with the 29-year-old battling to improve a career grass court record that stands at an underwhelming 53 wins in 77 appearances.
On the back of his French Open triumph, Zverev is looking to secure more Slams in the space of a few months than he had managed across his entire career. While Zverev will likely struggle in the final, I am backing him to edge past Fery as he knocks the home star out.
Verdict
I am backing Zverev to secure a 3-1 win as Fery's stunning run at Wimbledon is brought to an end.
