Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic Preview & Tips - Sinner to end Djokovic's 2026 Wimbledon campaign

Novak Djokovic was given a markedly different challenge in the quarter-finals as he needed all five sets to eventually knock out Felix Auger-Aliassime. 

The pair have met a total of 11 times before, with Sinner winning six matches and Djokovic winning five meetings. 

Jannik Sinner has been superb at Wimbledon in 2026, with his first round five-setter against Miomir Kecmanovic the only time he has dropped a set at the tournament this season. 

A run of 3-0 wins in his last four outings shows Sinner has been too good for any opponent. His quarter-final meeting with Jan-Lennard Struff was touted as a one that could see Sinner challenged, but he cruised to a 7-5 7-6 6-3 win that has put him within two wins of the trophy. 

While Sinner has lost five of his 11 meetings with Djokovic, he has proved far too good for his opponent of late. Indeed since November 25, 2023, Sinner has won five of their last six meetings. I predict that this dominant run will go on as Sinner moves into the Wimbledon final. 

Novak Djokovic's decision to enter just five tournaments this year may be about to pay off, with the veteran within touching distance of a 25th Grand Slam crown. 

A run to the final of the Australian Open constitutes Djokovic's best run this season, with this streak coming alongside a second round exit in Rome, a third round exit at the French Open and a fourth round exit at Indian Wells. 

Despite only playing 18 times this season, Djokovic could be on the cusp of another trophy. However, his ageing legs will have taken a lot of treatment in the last round as he was taken to a deciding set. While Djokovic has often found a way to come good when it matters most, I am backing a tough outing for him as the difference between their quarter-finals shows in their semi-final meeting.
