Karolina Muchova vs Coco Gauff Preview & Tips - Gauff to secure Wimbledon final berth

Coco Gauff rallied in fine style against Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals as she came from a set down to secure a 2-1 win. 

The pair have met a total of seven times, with Gauff winning six meetings and Muchova securing a single triumph. 

Karolina Muchova is edging towards a shot at her first ever Grand Slam crown, with the 29-year-old in fine form across the competition so far. 

Muchova has dropped a single set across her opening five matches, while her 7-6 6-4 win over Osaka in the quarter-finals was one of the performances of the tournament. While the quality of opposition remains very high in the semi-finals, Muchova will feel she has enough to win this match. 

However, Muchova's record against Gauff is terrible. While she did win their last meeting in Stuttgart, she had lost their previous six encounters. Despite not being close in their head to head record, I back Muchova to take a set, but I do not back her to take her place in the final at the weekend. 

Coco Gauff is aiming for the third Grand Slam crown of her career, with the 22-year-old within two matches of winning the biggest Slam of them all. 

Across her campaign in 2026, Gauff has not had it all her own way. Indeed, a 2-0 win in the first round at Wimbledon has been followed by four 2-1 triumphs. While she has not been able to blow an opponent away, she has continually proved too good over the course of three sets. 

Her 4-6 6-3 6-3 win over Jessica Pegula in the last round saw Gauff put her ability to rally from a set down on full show. After steadying herself on the back of losing the first set, Gauff was hugely impressive. 31 wins in 42 matches in 2026 is a solid record, and I predict that she will extend her impressive run against Muchova as she moves into the Wimbledon final.
