Jannik Sinner vs Jenson Brooksby Preview & Tips - Sinner backed to hammer Brooksby at Wimbledon

Jenson Brooksby easily beat Ignacio Buse in the second round as he needed just three sets to defeat his opponent. 

The pair have met once before, with Sinner winning 7-6 6-1 back in 2021. 

Jannik Sinner bounced back from almost being knocked out in the first round at Wimbledon with a ruthless win over Nuno Borges in the second round. 

While he was taken to a tie breaker twice, Sinner did not falter, winning 7-6 7-6 6-4 in a real workout for the reigning champion. This win made it 39 victories in 42 matches in 2026, with Sinner once again looking in brilliant form. 

Perhaps spurring Sinner on will be his woeful second round exit at the French Open and semi-final defeat at the Australian Open in 2026. By this stage in 2025, Sinner had won the Australian Open and made it to the final in France. Looking to make it consecutive Wimbledon crowns, Sinner needs to be ruthless throughout the tournament, and I back him to showcase this as her storms past his opponent. 

Jenson Brooksby arrives for the third round at Wimbledon on the back of a very impressive run that has seen him win his opening two without dropping a set. 

His win over Aleksandar Vukic saw him triumph 7-6 6-1 6-1 before an even easier 6-2 6-2 6-3 triumph over Ignacio Buse. While bigger challenges always awaited, Brooksby has beaten what is in front of him in an excellent run. 

The big worry for Brooksby will be that Sinner is the best player on the men's tour. The quality of opponent does not get any higher and with 16 defeats in 24 outings in 2026, it is tough to see him getting anywhere near the reigning champion at Wimbledon.
