Jannik Sinner vs Miomir Kecmanovic Preview & Tips
Jannik Sinner is looking to begin the defence of his Wimbledon crown in style as he returns to the court for the first time since his second round exit at the French Open.
Miomir Kecmanovic was eliminated in the third round in Mallorca mere days ago, with this his last appearance in a competitive match.
- Sinner has won 31 of his 43 grass court matches across his career (L12)
Head To Head
The pair have met four times in total, with Sinner winning each meeting. Interestingly, the pair last met in Wimbledon back in 2024, with Sinner winning 6-1 6-4 6-2.
Jannik Sinner Form
Jannik Sinner may have won Wimbledon in 2025, but he arrives for 2026’s iteration with question marks hanging over him following a hugely disappointing performance at the French Open back in May.
His elimination in the second round to Juan Manuel Cerundolo came with Sinner 2-0 up as he crashed to a 6-3 6-2 5-7 1-6 1-6 defeat. His last outing in 2026 was one that he will be keen to forget, and he can help to expunge this run from his memory by securing a win in the opening match of the defence of his Wimbledon crown.
With 441 wins and 130 defeats across his career, Sinner has proved too good for most, no matter what the surface. With Carlos Alcaraz not appearing at Wimbledon this year, Sinner will feel the competition is his to lose, and I back him to start in smart fashion with a comfortable 3-0 win.
Miomir Kecmanovic Form
Miomir Kecmanovic arrives for Wimbledon having been eliminated in the quarter-finals in Mallorca after securing two wins before losing in straight sets to Fabian Marozsan.
His 6-4 6-3 defeat was his 17th loss of the season. With just 17 wins coming alongside these defeats, Kecmanovic has struggled for consistency this term. In 2025, he won just 28 of his 58 outings, although he did fairly well at Wimbledon as he was eliminated in the third round.
Despite having aspirations of making it beyond the third round this season, Kecmanovic has been handed the most difficult draw he could have gotten. While he will enjoy his stint on Centre Court, it will be the last we see of Kecmanovic at Wimbledon in 2026.
Verdict
I am backing Sinner to easily beat his opponent as he gets off to a flying start at Wimbledon in 2026.
