Lois Boisson vs Elena Rybakina Preview & Tips

Lois Boisson is looking to end a run of three consecutive defeats heading into her first match at Wimbledon in 2026.

Elena Rybakina was beaten by Alexandra Eala in her last outing as she was eliminated from the Berlin Open in the second round.

  • Lois Boisson has lost six of her seven outings in 2026 (W1)

Head To Head

This will be the first time the two players have met in a competitive match.

Lois Boisson Form

Lois Boisson's first half of the year has hardly inspired confidence in her ability to go on an extended run at Wimbledon after securing a single win.

Her seven matches have resulted in six defeats and a single win, with her victory over Xinyu Wang in Strasbourg on May 17 her only triumph of the year. While the sample size of matches in 2026 is small, Boisson has not inspired this year.

Indeed, across her career she has won 147 matches and lost 91 times, but with only two matches and two defeats coming on grass across her career, I am backing against Boisson taking anything from this match as she is eliminated in the first round.

Elena Rybakina Form

Elena Rybakina is desperately looking for some kind of form heading into Wimbledon in 2026 after losing three of her last four matches.

A 7-5 6-4 loss to Alexandra Eala in Berlin in mid-June saw any hopes of arriving for the biggest Grand Slam event of the tour on the back of a win dashed. Fortunately for Rybakina, she has secured 32 wins in 42 outings in 2026, while she has won 39 of her 55 outings on grass across her career,

If the quality of opponent in the first round was higher, then I could see Rybakina having a real headache in her opener. However, with Boisson barely playing any tennis this year, I do not see her stunning her opponent.

Verdict

I am backing Rybakina to cruise to a 2-0 win over her opponent as she gets back to winning ways.
