Sydney FC could only take a point from Auckland FC in their final match of the regular season as the pair played out a 2-2 draw.

Melbourne Victory secured fourth place on the A-League ladder on the back of a pair of draws against Auckland FC and Newcastle Jets along with a 2-0 win over WS Wanderers.
Their three point salvo on the final day saw them leapfrog Sydney FC as they ensured they would host their Elimination finals clash. While a knockout game is awkward for any side, both would prefer to be the host in a game like this.
Victory boast five wins, five draws and a single defeat across their last 11, while they have won two of their last three at home, drawing the other game against the Jets. While Sydney FC will be a very tough nut to crack, I am backing Victory to secure a crucial result.

Sydney FC have struggled to find that killer blow of late, with three of their last four league games ending in draws.
A 2-0 win over WS Wanderers on April 11 is their only win across their last seven, with Sydney drawing four games and losing twice in this time. Sydney's inability to win matches saw them fail to take one of the top two berths or a position that would have afforded them a home tie in the Elimination finals.
While Sydney FC will throw everything they have at Melbourne, I predict that this will still see them come up short as they are forced to watch the rest of the Finals series from afar.
