Upcoming Major New Zealand Sports & Events

New Zealand sports fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming days, with a range of major sports bringing action that will keep sports bettors busy.

International Cricket

The New Zealand men's cricket team have enjoyed an excellent multi-format series against the West Indies, beating the tourists 3-0 in the T20 clash and 3-0 in their ODI series.

The Black Caps are on the cusp of a superb 8-0 multi-series win over the Windies, with the home side taking on the Windies in their Test series. The West Indies are in desperate need of a win after a disastrous tour, and they gave New Zealand as good as they got in the first Test as they held on for a draw.

The third Test follows on from a stunning nine-wicket win for the Black Caps in the second Test, with no West Indies batter able to really dig in.

Other cricket of note sees India vs South Africa in their T20 series. The Proteas arrive having given India a number of headaches across the Test and ODI game, meaning the T20 series should prove to be a tight battle. India lead the series 2-1 with two games to come

You can also bet on the third Ashes Test between Australia and England. Australia have England on the canvas, with the former leading 2-0 after two matches. England have struggled for consistency with bat and ball, and they are on the cusp of another big loss down under.

Rugby Union

The major international rugby tours have come to an end, with club rugby now back in a big way. While New Zealand's top teams are not in action, New Zealand fans will likely have one eye on the best South African club rugby teams playing in the United Rugby Championship, with the Lions travelling to face the Stormers and the Sharks hosting the Bulls.

New Zealand And European Football

Throughout the week, club soccer continues. In New Zealand, Auckland FC travel to face Western Sydney Wanderers after they beat Central Coast Mariners 2-1 in the early game last week.

Wellington Phoenix look to repeat the trick Auckland managed last weekend as they host the Central Coast Mariners in the final game of the weekend.

Away from New Zealand and the EFL Cup in England heads into the quarter-finals. The biggest match of the round sees Manchester City taking on Brentford, with the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle and Fulham also taking to the pitch.

At the weekend, the English Premier League continues along with Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga and Italian Serie A. With the festive season upon us, games will come thick and fast with teams playing every few days.
