New Zealand vs Bangladesh Women Preview & Tips
New Zealand Women arrive for their penultimate World Cup warmup game looking to secure a second win in their last three T20 outings.
Bangladesh Women beat the Netherlands by 13 runs in their last game as they made it consecutive wins in the shortest format.
- New Zealand have won all five of their previous Twenty20 meetings with Bangladesh
Head To Head
The pair have met five times before in the T20 game, with New Zealand winning each match.
New Zealand Women Form
New Zealand Women are edging towards the 2026 T20 World Cup looking to build some real momentum as they try to defend their crown this year.
Heading into their clash with Bangladesh, New Zealand are in good form having won four of their last six in the shortest format. Their two defeats came at the hands of England in a series they lost 2-1. Despite these defeats, New Zealand were competitive across the series and won their second meeting by 14 runs.
As masters of the conditions, England were always going to prove to be a tough proposition, but winning one of their three T20's was still a positive. Against Bangladesh, the focus will be on trying to implement what they have learnt on their tour of the UK and I predict their knowledge, coupled with their skill, will mean New Zealand secure an important win.
Bangladesh Women Form
Bangladesh Women took on the Netherlands in their last match as they managed to piece together a run of two successive wins. A 34-run win over Scotland was followed by their 13-run win over the Netherlands, with Bangladesh impressing.
However, while Bangladesh arrive on the back of a winning run, their opponents have been far too good for them across all of their five previous T20 meetings. The closest defeat between the pair saw Bangladesh lose by 17 runs back in 2020. Since then, New Zealand have secured wins by 132 runs, 37 runs, 63 runs and 71 runs in a dominant streak.
With the World Cup edging ever closer, Bangladesh will likely face a full strength New Zealand side that is looking to build momentum. With Bangladesh nowhere near good enough against their opponents in recent years, I am backing another tough day for the side.
Verdict
I am backing New Zealand to secure a fifth win across their last seven T20's as they hand Bangladesh a frustrating loss.
